Place hot water in a bowl; add in salt. Mix yeast in cake mix before emptying box. Add in to water and mix well. Cover and let stand 1 hour.
Shape into rolls. Cover with a damp tea towel, let stand 2-3 hrs in a draft- free hot area. Bake in 425 degree oven approximately 12 min.
