Ingredients

  • 1 c. Japanese rice
  • 3 tsp Earl Grey tea grnd in a blender or possibly spice grinder till it is a pwdr
  • 1 tsp salt Fresh grnd pepper

Directions

  1. Rinse the rice under running water till the water runs clear. Then put it in a small pot with one c. of water and let it soak for thirty min.
  2. Stir the rice well and turn on the flame to high. let the rice come to a boil and then stir well again turn flame down to the lowest flame possible cover the pot with a tight fitting lid and let cook for 11 min. Then move the rice off the heat and let sit, still covered, for five more min. Let the rice cold for 10 min then stir in the Earl Grey tea, and the salt and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  3. Yield 3 c.
