Ingredients

  • 2 c. very hot water
  • 1 yeast cake or possibly 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. shortening or possibly lard
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 4 c. self-rising flour

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in water, add in sugar. Beat Large eggs well and add in shortening to first mix. Add in flour. Grease muffin tins and drop 2 Tbsp. into each space. Let rise 15 min, then bake at 425 degrees.
  2. Note: These can be refrigerated after dropping into muffin tins. Then let rise 15 min before baking.
