Double Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

  • 2 1/2 ounce unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 c. heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 c. semisweet chocolate chips (to 1/2 c.) minced nuts or possibly mini marshmallows if you like


  1. In a 2-qt saucepan, heat chocolate, sugar, lowfat milk, cream and vanilla till chocolate is melted. Cold. Pour the mix into a blender and process till smooth. Add in chocolate chips (or possibly chunks of your favorite chocolate bar) and blend till chips are broken up. Pour into prepared ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions. Just before done, add in minced nuts or possibly marshmallows.
  2. Makes 1 qt.
