Ingredients
- 3 lbs. lard, heat to 375 degrees
- 2 tbsp. soft butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 c. flour, sifted
- 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Combine butter, sugar and egg yolks. Add in lowfat milk and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking pwdr and salt that have been sifted together. Drop batter (tip of tsp.) into warm fat. Cook 2 to 3 min on each side. Roll in sugar. Makes 4 dozen. Variation: Add in 1/4 tsp. nutmeg or possibly grated orange rind.
