Ingredients

  • 2 (16 ounce.) cans pork and beans, liquid removed
  • 3/4 c. barbecue sauce (I prefer K. C. Masterpiece)
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tart apple, peeled, cored and minced
  • 1/2 sm. onion, minced
  • 2 tbsp. golden brown raisins
  • 3 strips bacon, halved (ham strips can be substituted)

Directions

  1. In a 1 1/2 qt casserole, combine the liquid removed pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple, onion and raisins. Arrange the strips of bacon or possibly ham over the top of the mix in the casserole. Bake the bean mix in the casserole, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 50 to 60 min or possibly till the casserole is bubbly. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
