Ingredients
- 2 c. Five Roses all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1Â 1/4 c. Sugar
- 3 x Large eggs, separated
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 c. Lowfat milk
Directions
- Stir flour, baking pwdr and salt together. Cream shortening; gradually add in sugar, beating between additions. Add in egg yolks and beat till fluffy.
- Add in dry ingredients, alternately with lowfat milk, blending well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Beat egg whites till stiff but not dry; fold into batter. Pour into two greased and floured or possibly lined 8" layer cake pans.
- Bake in a moderate oven (350F) 25 to 30 min or possibly till done. Frost as desired.
