Davis' Salisbury Steak

This is a patchwork of Salisbury Steak recipes that work with my taste buds...hope you enjoy!!! While my ingredients might sound far-fetched---it is the best Salisbury Steak I have ever eaten.

Ingredients

  • Steak Mixture
  • 2 # Ground beef (85/15)
  • 1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 T Montreal Steak seasoning
  • 2 T chopped fresh Parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 T minced onion
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 2 T Worchestire sauce
  • 2 T Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Italian Bread Crumbs (enough to tighten mixture)
  • Olive Oil
  • Gravy Mixture
  • 1 1/2 # sliced mushrrooms
  • 1 can Cream of Potato soup (blended smooth)
  • You can substitute with Cream of Mushroom, Celery or Onion Soup
  • 1 can French Onion Soup
  • 1/2 package dry onion soup
  • 16 oz. beef broth
  • 1 packet Onion Gravy Mix
  • 1 Packet Brown Gravy Mix

Directions

  1. To make steak patties, mix first 12 ingredients and patty out into 8 equal serving. Brown patties in olive oil and set aside.
  2. To make gravy, saute mushrooms in drippings left over from browning meat patties. Then add remaining gravy ingredients and bring to a simmer. Place patties and gravy mixture in a baking dish, cover with foil and bake at 350 for 1 hour.
  3. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
