Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 teaspoon soda and 1/4 c. warm water (mixed together)
- 1 1/2 c. oatmeal
- 1 1/2 c. flour (or possibly more)
- Vanilla
Directions
- Mix dough and chill. Shape into round balls and press flat with a glass on a cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees for 10 min.
- Filling: Mix all ingredients together and boil till thick. Cold. Fill cookies just before serving so they stay crisp.
