  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 8 ounce. Dromedary pitted dates, snipped
  • 1 c. coarsely minced nuts

Directions

  1. Beat butter and sugar together in large mixing bowl till light and creamy. Beat in Large eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients; beat into sugar mix. Add in water to dates. Stir into batter with nuts. Refrigerate1 hour.
  2. Drop heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated moderate oven (325-350 degrees) for 10-12 min. Remove and cold on wire rack. Makes 72 (2 1/4 inch) cookies.
