Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or possibly margarine
  • 6 ounce bittersweet chocolate
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 lrg Large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract see * Note
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour divided
  • 1 1/2 c. minced walnuts
  • 1 c. semisweet chocolate morsels - (6 ounce)
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Note: Bourbon may be substituted for vanilla extract.
  2. Microwave butter and bittersweet chocolate in a 2-qt glass bowl at HIGH 1 1/2 min or possibly till chocolate is melted, stirring mix twice. Whisk in 2 c. sugar, Large eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Toss together 1 Tbsp. flour, walnuts, and chocolate morsels. Stir remaining flour and salt into sugar mix. Add in walnut mix. Spread batter into a lightly greased 13- by 9-inch pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 min. (A wooden pick inserted in center won't come out clean.) Cold on a wire rack.
  5. This recipe yields 2 dozen.
