Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb Grnd beef, lean
  • 1 c. Bamboo shoots, dice coarsely
  • 2 x Green onion stalks
  • 1 Tbsp. Curry pwdr, -=Or possibly=-
  • 2 Tbsp. -Curry pwdr
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. Oil

Directions

  1. Recipe is included in this collection.
  2. TO MAKE FILLING: Brownground beef in 1 Tbsp. oil with bamboo shoots till done. Add in all seasonings, then green onions. Mix well and refrigeratecompletely before wrapping. WRAPPING: Follow direction for steamed barbecued pork buns. BAKING: Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Brush buns with a mix of beaten egg white, 1 teaspoon water and 1/4 teaspoon sugar. Bake 20-25 min or possibly till buns are golden. Remove from oven. Brush top with butter. DO
  3. AHEAD NOTES: Bake ahead and freeze. To reheat, thaw out at room temperature. Wrap in foil and place in hot oven for 1 hour, or possibly slightly higher temperature for a shorter time.
  4. COMMENTS: This and other buns are great for picnic or possibly lunch baskets. It turns brown bagging into a gourmet's delight.
