Ingredients

  • 1 stk butter
  • 1 c. minced onions
  • 1 c. minced celery
  • 1 x pan cornbread crumbled
  • 6 slc bread crumbled
  • 1/4 lb crackers crumbled
  • 2 tsp thyme, sage or possibly poultry seasoning
  • 4 c. chicken broth
  • 1 can chicken broth - (14 ounce)
  • 4 x Large eggs beaten
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 3 c. chicken - (to 4 c.)

Directions

  1. Boil hen or possibly large fryer for your broth and chicken. Saute/fry onions and celery in butter. Pour this mix over bread crumbs in a very large mixing bowl. Add in seasonings and toss together. Pour sufficient broth into mix to moisten. Add in beaten Large eggs and mix together well. Add in baking pwdr, lowfat milk, and remaining broth. Mix should be very slushy. (Pouring point.) Add in chicken. Pack tightly into a 5-qt crockpot. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour. Reduce to LOW and cook 4 to 8 hrs.
