Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 1 lb cleaned calamari (squid)
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1 c. vegetable oil Marinara sauce warmed (optional)
Directions
- Cut the tube-like calamari bodies into 1/2-inch rings, leaving the tentacles intact.
- In a large resealable plastic storage bag, combine the flour, salt, and pepper. Add in the calamari in small batches and toss till completely coated.
- In a large deep skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat till warm but not smoking. Fry the calamari in small batches for 4 to 6 min, or possibly till golden. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately as is or possibly with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.
- Comments: The easiest way to do this is to buy calamari which's already cleaned so which you're ready to go when you get it home!
