Directions

  1. CREAM SAUCE:
  2. Combine flour, egg yolks, and vanilla in a bowl; set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the whipping cream and sugar to a boil; remove from heat.
  4. Stir a small amount of hot cream into egg yolk mixture; return all to the pan, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in ice cream.
  6. Allow to chill in refrigerator for several hours, or overnight.
  7. BANANAS:
  8. Bake pastry shells according to package directions. Remove the top and scrape out the doughy inside, being careful not to tear the pastry shell walls; place on serving plates.
  9. Chop bananas into bite-sized pieces and add to cream sauce. Pour into pastry shells, allowing some to spill out over the edge and onto the plate.
  10. Drizzle with the chocolate syrup and serve immediately.
