  • 2 c. cranberries (fresh or possibly thawed frzn)
  • 2 Tbsp. finely-shredded orange peel
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 bot Chardonnay - (750 ml ea)

Directions

  1. Sort cranberries and throw away soft or possibly decayed fruit. Rinse berries and put in a 2- to 3-qt glass jar, crock, or possibly bowl. Add in peel, sugar, and wine; mix well.
  2. Cover and refrigerateat least 1 week or possibly up to a month; stir several times. Pour aperitif through a fine strainer into a pitcher, or possibly return to jar. Serve cool. Reserve cranberryuorange peel mix to dress up muffins and pancakes.
  3. This recipe yields 7 c.; 8 servings.
  4. Comments: Make at least 1 week ahead; flavor and color intensify with 3 to 4 weeks' storage.
