- 1 med apple peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 med pear peeled cored and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1/2 c. fresh orange juice
- 1/2 c. pure maple syrup
- 1/4 c. dry cherries or possibly dry cranberries
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
- 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1 pch salt

- 1. In medium saucepan, combine all ingredients. Cover and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, till mix thickens and fruits are quite soft, about 20 min.
- 2. Remove from heat and cold to room temperature. Cover and chill till ready to serve.
