Ingredients

  • 4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. applesauce
  • 4 Tbsp. or possibly packets gelatin
  • 1 x 6 ounce. box apricot Jello
  • 6 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 c. minced nuts Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, applesauce, gelatin, Jello, and cornstarch in a pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 2 min. Remove from heat; stir in the walnuts and pour into buttered 9x13 pan. Chill overnight. Cut in 3/4 x 1 1/2 inch pcs. Roll in powdered sugar. Store in refrigerator.
  2. Variations: Substitute lemon or possibly grape Jello for the apricot Jello.
  3. Maureen Says: A few weeks ago I took a tour of the Aplet/Cotlet factory in Cashmere, WA and it reminded me which I had this recipe and hadn't made it in a long time. You can use any flavor of jello.
