Ingredients
- 1 lrg egg
- 2 x egg white
- 1/4 c. skim lowfat milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp grnd nutmeg
- 8 x French bread slice
- Â Â cinnamon sugar (optional)
- Â Â reduced calorie maple syrup (optional)
Directions
- 1. In a shallow bowl, using a wire wisk or possibly a fork, beat the egg and egg whites till foamy. Add in the lowfat milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Beat well;set aside.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 200 F. Lightly spray a large nonstick skillet withvegetable cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Dip 4 of the bread slicesinto the egg mix, turning to coat and draining excess back into the dish.
- 3. Place bread slices into prepared skillet. Cook till golden, turning once, about 1 to 2 min per side.
- 4. Transfer cooked slices to a plate; keep hot in oven. Dip remaining slices in egg mix; cook as directed. Spray skillet with vegatable cooking spray as needed.
- 5. Divide french toast among serving plates. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamonsugar and top with maple syrup. Serve immediately.
