Ingredients
- 1 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Plus 2 tblsp sugar
- 3 x Large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp Each lemon and vanila extract
- 3 c. Sifted flour
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cream of tartar
- 1 tsp Baking soda
Directions
- Here's a nice Chrismasy recipe from Favorite Recipes of America.
- Cream shortening; gradually add in sugar, beating till smooth and creamy. Add in Large eggs and flavorings; beat thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together. Add in to creamed mix. Set oven at 400 degrees. Roll dough 1/8-inch thick on well-floured board. Cut into star shape with cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 6 to 8 min.
- Yield: 4 dozen cookies. (Mynote: Looks really pretty with different colored icings too.)
