Directions

  1. Heat chocolate and butter together. Cold. Sift flour, baking pwdr and salt together. Beat egg, sugar and vanilla. Add in dry ingredients alternately with lowfat milk to egg mix, beating after each addition. Add in chocolate mix last. Pour batter into a greased 1 lb. coffee can and cover with a cloth. Place can in a covered kettle of water (about 3 inches). Cook 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. Begin at high heat. As steam escapes, reduce to low heat for remainder of time. Beat topping ingredients together. Serve over pudding.
  2. Top with slivered almonds or possibly chocolate shavings, if you like.
  3. Yield: 6-8servings.
