Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 F. Heat butter and 1/3 c. chocolate chips in 3-qt saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, till melted (4 to 5 min). Remove from heat. Stir in all other crust ingredients till well mixed.
  2. Spread into greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake for 25 to 30 min or possibly till sides of bars begin to pull away from edges of pan.
  3. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Continue baking for 3 min.
  4. Combine 1/2 c. chocolate chips and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH, stirring occasionally, till melted (1 to 2 min). Drizzle bars with melted chocolate. Cold completely. Cut into bars.
  5. Yield: 16 bars
  6. A 1999 Georgia State Fair winner! A chocolate and nut crust is topped with marshmallows and drizzled with chocolate.
  7. Preparation 10 minutes.* Baking 28 minutes.
