  1. Beat butter and sugar till creamy. Beat in Large eggs, one at a time, just till yellow disappears.
  2. Combine dry ingredients and add in to creamed mix alternately with lowfat milk, beginning and ending with flour, just till blended after each addition.
  3. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Bake in a greased and floured 10" tube pan 1 hour at 325F., till a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cold in pan on a wire rack 10-15 min before removing and cooling completely on rack. Spread with frosting.
  5. Frosting:Combine sugar, cocoa, salt, lowfat milk and shortening in saucepan. Boil 2 min over medium heat, stirring constantly. remove and add in vanilla.
  6. Beat at high speed till smooth and of the proper consistency.
