Chocolate Peppermint Kiss Cookies Recipe

Chocolate and peppermint are two of my all time favorite flavor combinations and it seems like the holidays are just the perfect time for it. These cookies were easy and tasty and a new favorite at my house. The family ate them in record time!

  • 1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 24 white chocolate peppermint Hershey’s kisses, unwrapped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Microwave 3/4 cup of the semi sweet chocolate chips approximately 1 minute until they are melted. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl, set aside. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl until creamy. Beat in melted chocolate and egg. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until creamy. Stir in remaining 3/4 cup of chocolate morsels.
  3. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for a minute. Press the kisses into each cookie. Cool cookies completely on a wire rack. Makes 2 dozen.
