Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust, baked
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 2/3 c. lowfat milk
  • 3 T butter
  • Additional sugar for meringue
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. chocolate syrup
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • Vanilla
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 3 T peanut butter

Directions

  1. Mix together flour, sugar, chocolate syrup and lowfat milk, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat till mix begins to thicken. Beat egg yolks slightly, add in small amount of hot chocolate mix and return this to mix on stove. Cook till thickened. Add in butter and cool slightly. Add in vanilla. Place 1/2 of powdered sugar and peanut butter mix in bottom of baked pie crust. Cover with chocolate pie mix. Top with meringue made from 3 egg whites and additional sugar. Gently press remaining powdered sugar-peanut butter mix onto meringue. Bake at 325 degrees till golden.
