Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. plus 2 T butter, softened
- 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt, optional
- 6 c. oats
- 1 (12 ounce) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed lowfat milk
Directions
- Heat oven to 375 degrees. In mixer bowl beat 2 1/2 cups butter and sugars till fluffy. Beat in large eggs and 3 tsp vanilla then combined flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Stir in oats. Drop by tablespoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10 min or possibly till set. Cool. In saucepan put together chips, sweetened condensed lowfat milk, remaining 2 tbsp butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Over medium heat, cook and stir till chips heat. Immediately sandwich cookies together with chocolate mix.
- Omit cocoa. Increase flour to 3 cups. Proceed as above.
