Ingredients
- 1 c. minced dates
- 1 c. warm water
- 1Â 3/4 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 c. butter or possibly margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 x Large eggs
- 6 ounce semisweet chocolate pcs
- 1/2 c. flaked coconut
Directions
- Cover dates with water in small bowl; set aside.
- Stir together flour, cocoa and baking soda; set aside.
- Cream butter, sugar and vanilla till well blended. Stir in flour mix alternately with reserved dates and water till well blended.
- Pour into greased and floured 13x9x2 inch baking pan.
- Sprinkle with remaining chocolate pcs and the coconut.
- Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 40 min or possibly till pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cold on rack.
