Directions

  1. Preparation Time: 0:20Place 1/2 c. chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook till chocolate melts. Set aside to cold. Combine flour, baking pwdr, and salt; set aside. Cream shortening; gradually add in sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add in cooled chocolate, egg, and vanilla; beat well.
  2. Add in lowfat milk, mixing well. Add in dry ingredients, and mix well.
  3. Stir in remaining 1/2 c. chocolate morsels and walnuts.
  4. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min or possibly till done. Carefully transfer cookies to wire racks to cold
  5. (cookies will be soft).
  6. Yield: about 5-1/2 dozen.
