Ingredients
- 6 ounce Semisweet chocolate morsels
- Â Â Divided
- 1Â 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1 x Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
- 3/4 c. Coarsely minced walnuts
Directions
- Preparation Time: 0:20Place 1/2 c. chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook till chocolate melts. Set aside to cold. Combine flour, baking pwdr, and salt; set aside. Cream shortening; gradually add in sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add in cooled chocolate, egg, and vanilla; beat well.
- Add in lowfat milk, mixing well. Add in dry ingredients, and mix well.
- Stir in remaining 1/2 c. chocolate morsels and walnuts.
- Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min or possibly till done. Carefully transfer cookies to wire racks to cold
- (cookies will be soft).
- Yield: about 5-1/2 dozen.
