Chocolate Cheery Nut Eggs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts (pecans)
  • 1/3 cup chopped cherries -- drained
  • 3/4 pound dark chocolate -- for dipping

Directions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips and milk over low heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the powdered sugar, pecans and cherries. Mix well. Chill until cold enough to handle.
  2. Shape into 1-inch eggs and place on waxed-paper-covered cookie sheets.
  3. Refrigerate until firm. Melt the dark chocolate and allow to cool until a small amount placed just below your lower lip feels slightly warm. Dip the eggs in the chocolate and place on the waxed-paper-covered cookie sheets to let chocolate harden.
  4. Keep refrigerated.
