Directions

  1. Prep. time: 10 min
  2. Cook time:15 min
  3. Place beans in a vegetable steamer in a large pot over boiling water. Cover tightly and steam 10 min. Cold under cool running water. Drain.
  4. While beans are steaming, mix soy sauce, water, cornstarch, sugar, sesame oil and crushed red pepper in a small bowl till the cornstarch is well blended.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large Dutch Oven, pot or possibly wok over medium-high heat.
  6. Add in beans and stir-fry 3 min, or possibly till beans are very warm and start to char in spots. Add in garlic and gingerroot. Continue stir-frying 2 min.
  7. Pour in soy sauce mix. Toss beans constantly till beans are proportionately coated and glazed. 1-3 min.

    OMG! Absolutely wonderful! I didn't have fresh ginger so I sub'd a couple of dashes of ground ginger in the sauce before adding it to the pan. I also put the garlic thru a press rather than chopping. I used the same recipe for mushrooms (like they have at the buffets) and it worked perfectly (I only steamed the mushrooms for about 2-3 mins)! Thanks!!!!
