Ingredients
- 1 whl garlic head - (abt 2 1/2 ounce) cloves separated, and peeled
- 2 c. extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. red pepper flakes
Directions
- In a small saucepan, combine the garlic cloves and extra virgin olive oil and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer till the garlic turns golden, 10 to 15 min. (Don't let the garlic get too dark because the oil will have a bitter taste.)
- Let cold and then add in the red pepper flakes. Infuse for at least 2 hrs to allow the flavors to blend. Chill in a covered container. Oil will last 2 to 3 weeks.
- This recipe yields about 2 c.. Serving size = 1 Tbsp..
- Comments: Brush this flavorful oil on pizza dough or possibly blend it into pasta dough. It can also be used for sauteing ingredients for pastas.
