this looks fabulous and I love anything with Chickpeas the chorizo will really be a great pairing with them~
.%20But%20already%20the%20images%20are%20cleaner%20and%20are%20also%20being%20uploaded%20with%20the%20correct%20amount%20of%20sharpness/clarity/something%20(haha,%20pardon%20my%20technical%20speak,%20apparently%20you%20need%20to%20save%20photos%20correctly%20for%20viewing%20on%20the%20internet,%20something%20I%20had%20never%20done%20before,%20and%20I%20am%20still%20not%20totally%20clear%20on%20the%20science%20behind%20it%20but%20now%20I%20am%20doing%20it%20at%20least).%20Literally,%20as%20I%20was%20typing%20this%20out,%20I%20realized%20I%20could%20crop%20them%20in%20my%20old%20software.%20So%20you%20have%20all%20been%20spared%20the%20really%20unbalanced%20yet%20sharper%20photos%20of%20my%20stew.%20Aren%E2%80%99t%20you%20relieved?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20anyway%20the%20stew.%20I%20made%20this%20while%20sick%20(yep%20still%20sick%E2%80%93turns%20out%20it%20turned%20into%20a%20sinus%20infection,%20so%20I%20am%20on%20anitbiotics%20now%20and%20anticipating%20finally%20feeling%20better%20soon),%20so%20you%20know%20it%20was%20easy.%20And%20as%20I%20have%20mentioned%20before,%20I%20took%20the%20time%20to%20write%20this%20post%20while%20sick,%20so%20you%20know%20it%20was%20tasty.%20Sammy%20and%20I%20would%20have%20preferred%20it%20with%20white%20beans%E2%80%93being%203,%20she%20ate%20all%20the%20sausage%20and%20and%20broth%20and%20ignored%20the%20chickpeas.%20I%20certainly%20would%20not%20go%20that%20far,%20since%20I%20like%20chickpeas%20just%20fine,%20but%20I%20would%20like%20the%20white%20bean%20texture%20more%20here,%20and%20the%20thickness%20it%20brings%20to%20stews%20as%20they%20fall%20apart.%20However,%20chickpeas%20are%20more%20traditional%20and%20John%20strongly%20preferred%20the%20chickpeas.%20I%20got%20the%20impression%20Alex%20would%20have%20been%20happy%20either%20way.%20So%20make%20it%20with%20whichever,%20but%20be%20sure%20to%20use%20a%20good%20smoked%20paprika%20and%20a%20good%20Spanish%20chorizo.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChickpeas%20Stewed%20With%20Chorizo%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Anya%20von%20Bremzen%E2%80%99s%20The%20New%20Spanish%20Table%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBegin%20by%20preparing%20the%20chickpeas.%20Place%20them%20in%20a%20large%20heavy%20pot%20and%20cover%20them%20with%20water%20by%20about%202%20inches.%20Bring%20them%20to%20a%20boil%20with%20the%20bay%20leaf,%202%20teaspoons%20of%20extra%20virgin%20olive%20oil,%20and%20the%203%20smashed%20garlic%20cloves.%20After%20they%20have%20boiled%20for%20about%205%20minutes,%20cover%20the%20pot%20and%20reduce%20the%20heat%20to%20low%20to%20simmer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%201%20hour,%20heat%20a%20large,%20preferably%20nonstick,%20skillet%20over%20medium%20heat%20with%20the%201-2%20tablespoons%20of%20extra%20virgin%20olive%20oil.%20Add%20the%20sliced%20chorizo%20and%20saute,%20rendering%20its%20fat%20and%20browning%20the%20sausage.%20After%205-10%20minutes,%20use%20a%20slotted%20spoon%20to%20add%20the%20chorizo%20to%20the%20chickpeas.%20Turn%20the%20heat%20off%20of%20the%20skillet,%20but%20leave%202%20tablespoons%20of%20fat%20in%20the%20pan.%20Cover%20with%20foil%20if%20your%20kitchen%20has%20much%20dust%20floating%20around.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20chickpeas%20are%20tender%20but%20not%20super%20soft,%20and%20when%20you%20are%20about%2030%20minutes%20away%20from%20serving%20dinner,%20re-heat%20the%20skillet%20with%20the%20chorizo%20flavored%20fat%20in%20it.%20When%20the%20fat%20is%20hot,%20add%20the%20onions,%20carrots%20and%20half%20of%20the%20minced%20garlic.%20Fry,%20stirring,%20until%20the%20onions%20are%20beginning%20to%20brown,%205-10%20minutes.%20Add%20the%20tomatoes%20and%20smoked%20paprika,%20bring%20to%20a%20brisk%20simmer,%20and%20cover%20the%20skillet%20(I%20used%20foil%20because%20I%20had%20no%20lid%20and%20this%20was%20adequate).%20Cook%20for%205%20more%20minutes.%20Then%20add%20the%20tomato%20onion%20mixture%20to%20the%20chickpeas,%20and%20if%20the%20chickpeas%20were%20resting%20(my%20chickpeas%20cooked%20quickly,%20so%20I%20just%20left%20them%20on%20the%20stove%20without%20heat%20for%20an%20hour%20or%20so),%20bring%20them%20back%20to%20a%20simmer.%20If%20you%20want%20your%20stew%20to%20be%20less%20brothy,%20leave%20the%20lid%20off;%20if%20you%20like%20the%20brothiness,%20place%20the%20lid%20back%20on.%20Either%20way,%20cook%20the%20chickpeas%20for%20another%2020%20minutes,%20until%20the%20chickpeas%20are%20very%20tender.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20meantime,%20using%20a%20mortar%20and%20pestle%20(or%20a%20spoon%20and%20a%20bowl%E2%80%93I%20cannot%20find%20my%20small%20mortar%20and%20pestle%20and%20my%20large%20one%20reeks%20of%20Thai%20flavors)%20smash%20the%20remaining%20minced%20garlic,%20chopped%20parsley%20and%20several%20pinches%20of%20coarse%20salt%20into%20a%20paste.%205%20minutes%20before%20serving%20the%20stew,%20stir%20this%20mixture%20into%20it.%20Taste%20the%20stew%20for%20additional%20salt.%20Serve%20with%20a%20salad%20and%20bread%E2%80%93I%20forgot%20to%20make%20bread%20the%20first%20day%20(remember%20I%20am%20sick),%20but%20the%20second%20day,%20w
