Ingredients
- 4 x chicken, breast, fillets
- 1/4 c. Japanese soy sauce
- 1Â 1/2 tsp mirin
- 2 tsp cooking sake
- 2 tsp fine sugar
- Â Â bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 min
- Â Â Sesame Sauce
- 1Â 1/2 c. sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp. mirin
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 3 tsp sugar
- 1/3 c. chicken stock
Directions
- Slice the chicken and put it in a bowl. Add in the soy sauce, mirin, sugar and sake to marinate the chicken for at least 3 hrs. Set aside in the fridge.
- When you are ready to serve, drain the chicken but keep the marinade. Thread the chicken pcs onto the soaked bamboo skewers and place them on the grill for a couple of min each side, brushing with the marinade all the while.
- Serve with the sesame dipping sauce.
- Sesame Sauce:For the dipping sauce, heat a non-stick pan and add in the sesame seeds, shaking them over the heat till they turn a golden colour. Put them in a pestle with the mirin and grind them to create a paste. Stir in the soy sauce, the sugar and the cool chicken stock.
- Preparation time is 30 min, marinating time 3 hrs.
