Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. hot water (110 degrees)
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 2 T honey
- 2 T sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (1/4 ounce) pkg. active yeast (1 T)
- 1 whole egg
- 3 egg yolks
- About 7 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 whole egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. sesame seeds
Directions
- Put together warm water, oil, honey, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Sprinkle yeast over mix. Stir to blend. Beat in 1 whole egg and egg yolks. Gradually stir in about 7 1/2 cups flour till dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Cover with dry cloth towel and let rest 15 min.Lightly oil a baking sheet and set aside. Then put dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead adding more flour if necessary till dough is smooth and elastic. Divide into 3 equal parts. Roll each into 14 inch rope. Place on prepared baking sheet. Press ends and braid. Tuck under ends. Cover with dry cloth, let rise till double in size.
- Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 50 min or possibly till bread is golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
