Ingredients
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12 ounce) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. minced nuts
- 1/2 c. flaked coconut
Directions
- Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly; add in egg and beat well. Add in vanilla. Sift flour and salt together; add in to creamed mix and mix well. Spread in a very lightly greased 10 x 15 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 min or possibly till just done (be careful not to overbake). Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top of baked mix immediately after removing from oven; return to oven for about 3 min, just long sufficient to soften the chocolate to a spreading consistency. Spread evenly and sprinkle with nuts and coconut. Cut while still warm. Makes 40 bars.
