Ingredients
- 6 Tbsp. white miso (fermented soybean paste)*
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. mirin (sweet Japanese rice wine)*
- 1/4 c. sake
- 4 x (6-oz) black cod or possibly sea bass fillets (each about 3/4 inch thick)
Directions
- Start marinating the fish for this dish at least two hrs before you plan to serve it. Mix first 4 ingredients in shallow baking dish. Add in fish and turn to coat. Cover dish tightly and chill 2 to 4 hrs.
- Preheat broiler.
- Remove fish from marinade. Broil till just opaque in center, about 3 min
- *Available at Japanese markets, specialty foods stores and in the Asian foods section of some supermarkets.
