Ingredients
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 c. sifted flour (all-purpose)
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
- Heat shortening over low heat - let cold. Add in sugar, molasses and egg - cream together. Add in dry ingredients and mix well. Refrigeratethoroughly. Roll into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Put on greased cookie sheets. Bake in 375 degree oven for 8-10 min.
