Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 pkt yeast
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 x egg.

Directions

  1. Dissolve sugar, salt & oil in warm water. Dissolve yeast in hot water.
  2. Mix all ingredients and let rise to double.
  3. Punch down the dough and then knead it for a few min. Let rise again till doubled.
  4. Shape into loafs and bake at 425 F till lightly golden.
  5. Variations:* add in your favorite herbs and spices to the flour (eg. garlic, dill, etc...)
