  • 10 slc Day-old sourdough or possibly French bread, torn in pcs
  • 1 quart Skim lowfat milk, heated
  • 1 c. Evaporated skim lowfat milk
  • 4 x Egg Beaters, (1 c.)
  • 1 c. Sugar,, (or possibly 1/2 c. sugar + 6 packets Sweet 'n Low)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. Liquid Butter Buds
  • 1/2 c. Seedless raisins
  • 3 x Egg Beaters, (3/4 c.)
  • 1 c. Sugar,, (or possibly 1/2 c. sugar + 6 packets Sweet 'N Low)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. Skim lowfat milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. Water
  • 3 Tbsp. Amaretto liqueur, or possibly brandy

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine bread, skim lowfat milk, and evaporated skim lowfat milk. In a medium bowl, beat Egg Beaters slightly adding sugar gradually. Add in to bread mix. Stir in vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, liquid Butter Buds, and raisins. Pour into a shallow, 2 qt baking dish which has been sprayed with a non-fat cooking spray. Set the baking dish into a larger shallow pan. Pour warm water into larger pan to depth of 1 inch. Bake 1 hour, or possibly till knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve hot, with Amaretto Sauce.
  2. Sauce: In a small saucepan, beat Egg Beaters slightly, adding sugar gradually. Stir in skim lowfat milk and vanilla. Blend well. Cook over low heat stirring till mix boils. In a small bowl, blend cornstarch and water till smooth. Stir into warm mix. Cook stirring, till thickened. Remove from heat, and stir in Amaretto. Serve slightly hot.
