Ingredients

  • In a bowl mix together :
  • 1.) 1 and 1/2 cups of sifted gram (chickpea garbanzo) flour
  • 2.) 2 hot green chilies finely minced
  • 3.) 1 and 1/2 Tbs of finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 4.) 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 5.) 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 6.) 3/4 tsp salt
  • 7.) 1 tsp jaggery or brown sugar
  • 8.) 3 Tbs of vegetable oil
  • 9.) 2/3 cup of plain yogurt
  • Grease an 8 inch cake pan with 1 Tbs of vegetable oil
  • 1.) Sprinkle 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2.) 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1.) 1/4 cup unsalted butter in a cast iron pan

    I made this using my all purpose blend with millet and liked it much better than the chickpea flour. I know taste is subjective but I just wanted people to know it is a versatile recipe that is fantastic and easy!

      Kathy, I made the Bread and liked it, but have you ever tryed different flour or a mixure of flour. . The chickpea flour is a bit strong flavour. Will try the muffins next
