Bow Ties With Sausage, Tomatoes And Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage casings removed, crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp dry red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 c. diced onions
  • 30 ml garlic, chopped
  • 1 can Italian plum tomatoes liquid removed, coarsely minced
  • 1 1/2 c. whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 12 ounce bow tie pasta
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley freshly grated parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. TOMATOES and CREAM Heat oil in heavy large skillet over medium heat. Add in sausage and pepper flakes. Cook till sausage is no longer pink, stirring frequently, about 7 min. Add in onion and garlic to skillet and cook till onion is tender and sausage is light brown, stirring occasionally, about 7 min. Add in tomatoes, cream and salt. Simmer till mix thickens slightly, about 4 min.
  2. Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water till just tender but still hard to bite, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Drain.
  3. Serves 4.
