Bourbon Street Balls With Pecans Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 c. whole pecan">pecans or possibly pecan halves
  • 2 c. crushed or possibly processed Nilla wafers (or possibly other vanilla flavor wafer cookies)
  • 1 c. confectioners' sugar
  • 4 x jiggers bourbon
  • 3 Tbsp. white syrup (Karo recommended) Butter for fingertips

Directions

  1. Roughly chop 4 c. pecans in a food processor. Remove 2 c. and reserve. Finely grind the remaining pecans in the food processor.
  2. Combine finely minced pecans, Nilla wafers, confectioners' sugar, bourbon, and syrup. Coat finger tips with softened butter to help you roll. Shape mix into balls 1 1/2 inches in diameter using an ice cream scoop. Roll in minced pecans. Arrange balls on a dessert platter and serve. Ask for help rolling. Four hands make very quick work of this dessert!
  3. This recipe yields 24 to 30 balls.
  4. Yield: 24 to 30 balls
