Directions

  1. Combine Blackberries and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, and cook 2 min. Remove from heat; mash Blackberries.
  2. Strain and throw away seeds. Set Blackberry pure aside.
  3. Combine brown sugar and next 5 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 3 min. Add in apple; cover and simmer 30 min or possibly till apple is very tender. Remove from heat; throw away whole spices. Stir in Blackberry pure. Mash apples to desired consistency.
  4. Yield: 2-1/4 c. (serving size: 1/4 c.).
  5. Serving Ideas : Serve hot or possibly chilled.
