Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) flank (often sold as stir-fry beef) or top sirloin steak still partially frozen
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shao Hsing cooking wine
  • 1½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • ½ green bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 2-in knob ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 pips garlic, minced
