Directions

  1. Brown hamburger with 4 Tbsp. oil, get rid of excess oil.
  2. Saute/fry onions, clove garlic, peppers and celery; add in to hamburger.
  3. Mix all tomatoes, puree, etc. together and add in to pot on medium heat.
  4. Add in all your beans to pot.
  5. Now add in all your other ingredients to the pot.
  6. As we all know, we should be mixing and stirring (since sauteing the onions) with a large wooden spoon.
  7. Now the red wine should be added.
  8. NOTE: If you wish to have a less thick chili, you can add in beef broth to the mix.
  9. Bring the whole wonderful mess to almost a boil and then place on low heat for about 1 1/2 hrs.
  10. Makes 14 to 17 qts.
