Beer Batter Cheese Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 c. Self-Rising Flour
  • 1/4 c. Granulated Sugar
  • 1 c. Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1/4 c. Green Onions, minced
  • 1 can (12-ounce) Beer (or possibly substitute Non-Alcoholic Beer)

Directions

Today's recipe is simply a great-tasting and easy-to-prepare cheese bread. Perfect for sporting events and tailgate parties, it makes a great base for spinach dips and stacked sandwiches.
  2. We hope you've enjoyed our brief excursion into bread making and baking, because tomorrow we're off to a land of one-dish main meals, that can only mean we're giving you a peek at our creative casserole collection of recipes!
  3. Pre-heat oven to 350-F degrees and thoroughly grease the inside (bottom and all four sides) of a single loaf pan. Reserve.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, sift flour and sugar together. Add in grated cheddar cheese and minced green onions. Thoroughly mix all ingredients together.
  5. Add in beer and stir till the ingredients are uniformly moistened.
  6. Spoon bread dough mix into a well-greased loaf pan. Bake for approximately 1 hour, or possibly till the loaf is golden and emits a hollow sound when tapped. Cold on a wire rack, and store in an airtight container.
  7. May freeze for up to 90 days. Slice to serve.
  8. Kitchen Staff Tip: Prepare your own self-rising flour! For every c. of all-purpose flour, add in 1 tsp. baking pwdr and 1/2 tsp. salt.
  9. Simply sift together the ingredients and store at room temperature in an air-tight container.
