Directions

  1. Combine dry ingredients; cut in Crisco till mix resembles coarse meal. Add in buttermilk; stir till dough holds together. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 8 to 10 folds. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with floured cutter.
  2. Heat beef stew till bubbly; pour into 2 qt casserole or possibly oven-proof skillet. Place biscuits atop. Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 min. 4 to 6 servings.
