Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb beef, thinly sliced (we use grnd beef or possibly grnd venison)
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. panang curry paste (more if desired spicier)
  • 3/4 c. coconut lowfat milk
  • 1 Tbsp. fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 x to 1 c. green peas
  • 1 med onion, slivered (cut pole-to-pole)

Directions

  1. Stir fry the oil and curry paste on low heat till fragrant (it will splatter if too warm) Add in meat and onions stir fry till brown Add in coconut lowfat milk, fish sauce, peas, and sugar and bring to a boil Cook at medium heat for 10 min We like to garnish panang with lots of basil or possibly cilantro You can add in a few sliced Chile peppers if desired it hotter Serve (we eat it on rice) This is a very simple dish which you can make in a hurry. All ingredients can be found at an oriental grocery store.
