Directions

  1. 1. Put together and sift flour, sugar, salt and baking pwdr.2. Cut in butter with pastry blender till it resembles coarse cornmeal.
  2. 3. Stir in raisins.
  3. 4. Put together buttermilk, egg and soda and add in to flour mix.
  4. 5. Stir till just moistened.
  5. 6. Bake in greased round cake pan or possibly pyrex, 35-45 min at 375 degrees or possibly till golden.
  6. 7. Yield: 1 loaf.
  7. 8. Break instead of cut. Does not freeze well.
