Ingredients

  • 1 sm. roast of pork
  • 1 pkg. or possibly can of kraute, rinse well
  • 6 potatoes, med. boiled and mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. bread crumbs or possibly six slices bread, preferred moistened
  • 2 c. flour
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Add in roast and boil about 1 1/2 hrs. Ad sufficient water to keep real moist.
  2. To this, add in:
  3. Mix well. boil in boiling water till done, about 10 min. Teat a dumpling to make sure they hold together. Put kraute and roast in roasting pan. Lay dumplings over the top of kraute and pork. Bake in 375 degree oven till golden. This is really delicious.
  4. Mix 2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 3 tbsp sugar, 6 tbsp shortening, add in lowfat milk to soften and 1 egg beaten, 4 tsp baking pwdr. Bake at 410 degrees about 10 to 15 min or possibly till golden. P.S. Add in baking pwdr to dry mix.
